About The Position
The Assistant Coach for Women's Softball at Barstow Community College plays a vital role in the development and execution of the softball program. This position is under the direction of the Associate Dean/Athletic Director - Kinesiology and involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the athletic performance and overall experience of student-athletes. The successful candidate will assist in planning and executing the softball program, which includes recruiting competitive players, directing conditioning and training sessions, and maintaining team statistics and records. Additionally, the Assistant Coach will be responsible for fostering relationships with local high school softball coaches to support recruitment efforts and ensure compliance with college rules and policies, as well as regulations set forth by the Commission on Athletics and other relevant agencies. The role requires a commitment to equity and inclusion, as the college serves a diverse student population. The Assistant Coach will be expected to demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. This position is part-time and offers an annual salary of $6,000. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting the academic success of all students, including those from underrepresented groups, and will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners to close equity gaps in athletics and education.
