POSITION SUMMARY: The Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Assistant Coach will support the head coach and associate head coach in all aspects of leading a nationally competitive Division III program. The ideal candidate is committed to the student-athlete experience and capable of balancing competitive excellence with academic priorities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy and institutional values.
  • Must be available for evening and weekend commitments, as well as travel during the season.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous collegiate playing or coaching experience in water polo strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of practice sessions and training programs, focusing on technical and tactical development.
  • Support in-game decision making, strategy, and adjustments.
  • Scout opponents and prepare game plans, including video breakdown and analysis.
  • Recruit qualified student-athletes who are a strong fit academically and athletically.
  • Mentor student-athletes, promoting leadership, wellness, and academic success.
  • Manage team operations such as equipment, travel logistics, and communication.
  • Contribute to camps, clinics, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with program promotion and social media presence.
  • Serving as a home contest manager for other varsity sports.
  • Supporting Athletics Communications and Operations (statistics, media coverage, event setup).
  • Assisting with club sports administration.
  • Year-long opportunities in facility oversight, wellness programming, and departmental committees.
