The position involves assisting with the coaching, organization, administration, and development of a successful college athletic program at Washington University. The successful candidate will be expected to comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA, the University Athletic Association, and Washington University, as well as those specific to the respective team. This is a full-time position that spans ten months, from August through May, during which the individual will be required to work 37.5 hours per week. In this role, the individual will assist in planning and implementing various aspects of the assigned sport's program. This includes team organization, player selection and evaluations, practice planning, and game strategy. The candidate will represent the university at various functions, including campus events, alumni gatherings, and community functions. Coaching responsibilities will involve instructing team members both individually and in groups, demonstrating sport-related skills, and potentially managing a designated skill development area or group of positions. The position also requires evaluating individual players' skill performance, providing necessary instruction, and reviewing video footage to identify areas for development. The candidate will supervise and organize the athletic program as determined by the Head Coach, produce scouting reports on opponents, and assist with team discipline and player counseling. Additionally, the role involves coordinating the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school talent, and teaching classes in the elective Physical Education program. Other duties may be assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director as needed.
