About The Position

Endicott College is seeking an Assistant Coach for its roller hockey team. The position is located approximately 20 miles north of Boston, with free parking available and accessible via commuter rail on the Newburyport/Rockport line. The Assistant Coach will be expected to commit to a work schedule during the competitive season that includes up to two practices per week and weekend tournaments. The Assistant Coach will also be responsible for recruiting and attending various college events to further the team's interests. The role involves working with a group of highly talented and motivated men who have consistently competed at Nationals every year.

Requirements

• Knowledge of current bylaws, playing styles, and coaching methods.
• Recent playing or coaching experience is a plus.
• Ability to adapt coaching skills to the needs and goals of the team.
• Ability to teach players with varying levels of experience the fundamentals of roller hockey.
• Leadership and managerial skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing instruction, mentoring, and guidance to student athletes to help them develop their athletic skills and abilities to their maximum potential.
• Evaluating athletic ability and performance.
• Preparing equipment and practice plans in advance of practice sessions.
• Maintaining positive and professional relations with students, athletes, and alumni.
• Teaching safe and proper techniques to beginning level players while challenging and integrating the skills of higher-level players.
