ABM Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Building Engineer to support operations at our Data Center facility. This role assists the Chief Engineer in overseeing the engineering team and ensuring the optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and HVAC systems within a commercial or industrial facility. Pay: $83.14/hr The pay listed is the hourly range for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data center or critical facility operations
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, plumbing
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily operations of all critical systems (electrical, HVAC, UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, sequence of operations, controls
  • Proficient in writing, reviewing MOP’s and EOP’s
  • Supervise and support engineering team members
  • Perform and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Respond to emergency situations and critical system alarms
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
  • Support vendor management and contractor oversight
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
  • Assist with budgeting and operational planning
