What this job involves: This position oversees maintenance operations by supervising staff, coordinating service requests, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The role ensures efficient facility operations with minimal disruption while maintaining equipment performance and safety standards. The supervisor provides training, manages inventory, and maintains a professional maintenance operation that supports overall building functionality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience
  • 5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and work in various positions to access equipment

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and/or HVAC

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance staff performance during assigned shifts
  • Coordinate and execute maintenance departmental service requests efficiently
  • Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and determine corrective actions needed
  • Provide hands-on training and professional development to operations staff
  • Schedule and implement preventative maintenance programs with minimal service disruption
  • Order parts and equipment while maintaining adequate inventory levels
  • Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policies
  • Prepare purchase order requests and develop supplier relationships for stock materials
  • Maintain clean, safe workplace conditions and adequate tool/supply inventory
