About The Position

The Assistant Center Manager (ACM) works with the Health Center Manger to ensure the efficient coordination, management of workflow and systems within an assigned Health Center providing both Family Planning and Abortion services. The ACM performs supervisory responsibilities to include the training of employees, assigning and directing of work, as needed addressing patient and employee complaints and finding solutions and resolutions to issues or complaints. This position assists in the oversight of the health center’s overall risk, quality and compliance, as well as quality assurance to provide top notch quality care in a safe environment for both patients and staff. Requirements

To qualify for an Assistant Manager, the candidate must be able to perform at least three of the following Health Center Assistant (HCA) proficiencies: Front office, Family Planning Back office, AB Back office or Ultrasound.
Current HCA at any PPAZ site with willingness to work in other clinical roles as needed.
High School Diploma or GED and three years healthcare assistant experience is required.
Demonstrated work experience with the public or patients preferably in a surgical, family planning or health care setting.
Prefer experience in patient advocacy, injections and venipuncture.
Must demonstrate the ability to relate and be sensitive to patients needs in a non- judgmental manner.
Strong patient/customer service and interpersonal skills required.
Must be able to work as part of a team and be flexible.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Capacity to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and vendors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read, manipulate and develop fiscal data on tables.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and time is a factor.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

Prefer HCA II tier and/or experience as a team lead and/or US proficiency.
Front and back office proficiency required.
Highly preferred candidate will have worked both services of family planning and abortion.

Responsibilities

Models and ensures the highest standard of professionalism, work standards and customer service levels and care.

Coordinates the flow of work in the front and back office area for assigned Health Center. Assigns tasks on a daily basis to Team Leads, Health Care Assistants, Surgical Assistants or Volunteers to facilitate effective and efficient handling of the workload. Works under agreed upon general principles set forth by the Center Manager.
Ensures proper training of Team Leads and Health Care Assistants. Provides support and arranges for ongoing training, as needed, for effective work performance.
Performs duties of Team Lead or Health Care Assistant, as needed.
Submits all required occurrence and incident reports per PPAZ policy.
Ensures all health center records are properly filed and confidentiality is maintained.
Assists in the management of day-to-day health center activities.
Adheres and assists in health center security and safety procedures.
Manages and facilitates health center flow.
Participates in patient care as patient flow dictates.
Ensures compliance by monitoring and reviewing logs, and auditing charts.
Communicates with staff to ensure the health center has supplies and equipment necessary for the provision of health services. Places all orders and verifies receipts in the electronic management system. Assists with inventory management and control.
Collaborates with Center Manager to meet health center productivity and operational goals in conjunction with budgetary adherence.
Assists with the management of inventories, daily closing procedures, petty cash and ensure balance of daily receipts.
Ensures expected patient care and customer service levels at health center.
Assists patients with service questions, concerns or complaints.

All medical employees at Planned Parenthood Arizona, Inc. shall provide record of Hep B and Rubella immunizations or titers at time of hire to demonstrate immunity. Employees have the option to sign a declination for the Hep B immunization only. Additionally, medical employees will comply with the PPAZ TB Infection Control Plan which includes at minimum a TB skin test at time of hire and annual TB symptom screening.
The Assistant Center Manager will be responsible for patient flow and daily operational decisions with the guidance of the Regional Manager and VP of Patient Services. Assures adequate daily staffing needs and adjusts schedules as client flow requires. Participates and provides input to the Center Manager on hiring, training, performance reviews, staff development plans and performance coaching.
