About The Position

The Assistant Carpenter will assist in the timely and on-budget completion of building projects assigned by the department head. This role involves various construction tasks and responsibilities to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years' experience in carpentry preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds in a safe manner.
• Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenter in construction projects, such as decks and concrete walks.
• Provide new openings for installing doors and/or windows.
• Participate in remodeling projects such as bathrooms, kitchens, and office spaces.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Be in charge of equipment and tools, ensuring they are kept in proper order and well maintained.
• Provide a safe environment for residents and staff by constructing a work zone barrier to minimize peripheral impact from construction activity.
• Restrict access to power equipment by non-facilities personnel.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
