About The Position

All cafe employees function as cashiers, baristas, and food handlers. Primary duties include: making drinks using an espresso machine, food preparation, cleaning, customer service, and leading volunteers. The assistant manager will perform the necessary duties of a regular cafe worker while assisting the head manager in organizing and shepherding the team that works/serves on Saturdays.

Requirements

  • Committed, practicing disciple of Jesus Christ and member of ONE&ALL Church
  • At least 1 year of food service experience
  • Genuine love for the Word of God, hospitality, and discipleship
  • A genuine love for people and desire to minister to guests while being led by the Holy Spirit.
  • Humility, demonstrated in being highly teachable, adaptable, and patient
  • Able to work efficiently, calmly, and joyfully amidst high-pressure, fast-paced situations
  • Must have a car to run errands as needed
  • Outstanding customer service & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Outstanding work ethic
  • Friendly, welcoming, and outgoing demeanor
  • Good math and administrative skills

Nice To Haves

  • Barista experience
  • Experience in mentoring/coaching/teaching or serving with youth

Responsibilities

  • Dedicate prayer and creativity to furthering the cafe ministry’s mission of blessing the body of Christ and cultivating a welcoming, safe environment for discipleship and fellowship to happen.
  • Saturdays, managing the cafe and shepherding the volunteer/part-time staff team.
  • Available to cover for the manager on Sundays or during the week if needed.
  • Provide spiritual encouragement, mentorship, and care to the San Dimas cafe team members, particularly during the team huddles.
  • Plan and execute team bonding events.
  • Assist the manager with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Assist the manager in training new team members.
  • Provide proper training and oversight for the barista and food stations training to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Prepare brunch food and make espresso-based beverages.
  • Open and operate the cash register, quickly and accurately distribute change, and balance the drawer at the end of shift.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized workstation and dining area.
  • Open and close the cafe, thoroughly cleaning equipment, in an efficient manner.
  • Abide by health and food safety protocols and ONE&ALL Cafe-specific protocols.
  • Adhere to recipes and presentations of food and beverage items while remaining flexible to change.
  • Attend biweekly 1:1 meetings with the supervisor.
  • Able to help out at all staff meetings and special events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Continue to grow as a follower of Christ, so that what you do overflows from your relationship with Him.
  • Faithfully give to the Lord through ONE&ALL Church in a way that is consistent, sacrificial and follows the first fruit principle with a tithe being the benchmark to grow towards.
  • Live out the ONE&ALL Staff Values in relationships with other staff, congregation and community.
  • Attend a ONE&ALL Campus Service regularly.
  • Serve at Easter and Christmas.
