The Assistant Cafe Manager at Bon Appetit is responsible for supporting the Cafe Manager in ensuring the overall success of the cafe operations. This role involves adhering to health regulations, managing daily operations, and fostering a culture of food and workplace safety. The Assistant Cafe Manager will also be involved in employee management, financial responsibilities, and maintaining high standards of food quality and customer service.

  • Assist the Cafe Manager in managing daily operations of the cafe.
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations and Compass standards.
  • Motivate and direct employees to meet operational objectives.
  • Manage workplace and food safety, including allergen management.
  • Monitor and manage financial and budget responsibilities.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and participate in safety inspections.
  • Operate web-based ordering systems and process customer requests.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience in a food service establishment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to drive and enhance a culture of food and workplace safety.
  • Experience in restaurant, hotel, or events management.
  • Managing in a Union Environment is a plus.
  • ServSafe Certification.
