Our Global Procurement team plays a key role in ensuring the quality and timeliness of product provided to our customers and internal teams. We work to provide best in class supply chain management practices by establishing and maintaining an exceptional supply base and internal processes that allow for quality parts to meet 100% on time delivery requirements of the internal and external customer. Key objectives to achieve this goal include supply base strategies, supply chain planning and procurement execution, price negotiation strategies, asset management, supplier risk management, cost management practices, supplier relationship management, supplier quality objectives, compliance administration, continuous improvement and data measurement. The Assistant Buyer is a vital part of the Purchasing team. This role is responsible to assist the buyers to make sure the correct items of superior quality are received in a timely fashion to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to our production team. You will work in a dynamic purchasing environment with direct involvement with both internal purchasing teams and external suppliers.

Requirements

  • 2 year business related degree or purchasing experience preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing environments and MRP systems preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to Buyers across procurement activities
  • Communicate with the supply base to obtain and clarify critical information
  • Prepare data and reports for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain ERP system data including part numbers, supplier records, and purchase orders
  • Follow up on open and past-due orders with suppliers
  • Support supplier forecasting activities
  • Assist with demand change reviews and coordinate expediting as required
  • Provide support for ongoing Global Procurement initiatives and projects
