EEO/AA Employer/Veterans/Disabled Performs primary and supporting purchasing duties with guidance from the Buyer and Planning Manager, including performing general administrative work, issuing PO’s, communicating with vendors and internal stakeholders, obtaining new and existing part quotes, helping resolve invoicing and vendor shipment discrepancies and other related purchasing duties as assigned Perform supporting planning administration/follow up responsibilities, as needed/requested

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a purchasing or clerical environment.
  • Experience using MS Office program or equivalent
  • 2+ years frequently communicating via email and/or phone in a professional environment to internal and external parties
  • Associate’s degree or higher OR 2+ years related work history AND high school diploma

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years utilizing an ERP system to perform regular daily/weekly tasks
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute the directives of Huhtamaki’s North America and global management to support Huhtamaki’s operations and those of its customers
  • Review system-generated demand and issue purchase orders for select low demand complexity item groups (non-casting items)
  • Issue outside process purchase orders for manufactured items
  • Maintain purchase orders and follow up on non-confirmed and past due orders
  • Maintain ERP costing data
  • Expedite open purchase orders as required to support production and customer demand
  • Assist Buyer through direct communication with vendors
  • Assist Buyer with the quoting process for new and existing parts
  • Assist Buyer, Receiving Clerk, Accounts Payable, and vendors in reconciling invoicing, shipping, and receiving discrepancies
  • Perform root cause analysis of system, inventory, vendor, etc. discrepancies to address and prevent future disruptions, errors, and non-conformities
  • Assist Planner with administrative duties including internal follow-up communications to internal team members
  • Assist Buyer and Receiving Clerk with RV (return-to-vendor) process
  • Participate in safety hazard hunts
  • Other duties as assigned
