As an Assistant Buyer at Colony Hardware, you will thrive in a fast-paced and professional work environment, where your ability to achieve goals consistently and efficiently will be highly valued. This position is crucial for maintaining the flow of operations, as you will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing inventory stock levels, and ensuring that all administrative responsibilities in support of suppliers and internal customers are completed accurately and on time. Reporting directly to the Regional Purchasing Manager, your role will involve daily execution of purchase orders to support system and customer demand, managing system data parameters to ensure fill rate objectives are met, and providing timely support for requests regarding price, availability, and product information. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ensuring that cost and pricing are accurate and meet margin objectives, reviewing and rebalancing inventory to minimize slow-moving products, and negotiating the best possible cost, payment, and shipment terms with suppliers. You will also maximize supplier promotional opportunities, resource problem suppliers as necessary, and maintain strong supplier relationships while continuously looking to leverage Colony's position in the market. Additionally, sourcing new suppliers and products will be part of your responsibilities, along with negotiating off-sheet pricing for large volume and project buys. You will ensure that all system parameters are accurate and up to date, and resolve any receiving and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
