About The Position
Join us as an Assistant Buyer to kick start or flourish in your merchandise buying career at HSN, located in St. Petersburg, Florida! This role is hybrid, requiring you to come into the office around 6-7 days a month while working the remainder from home. We prioritize work-life balance and support our team members in achieving it. This position prepares you for a Senior Assistant role, eventually leading to a Buyer position where you will analyze sales, return rates, customer reviews, and identify products and brands that resonate with our customers. As part of a compelling team of merchants, you will contribute to providing an amazing experience for our consumers and internal team members. Our Talent and Development team is dedicated to supporting your career growth, and leadership is fostered across all levels to help you transition into your next Buyer I role. In this position, you will gain exposure to top national brands and play a crucial role in the buying office you support. Your responsibilities will include identifying and negotiating products, prices, and terms, as well as buying and building new products, concepts, shows, and ideas to drive sales results across our multi-platforms. You will develop a keen sense for merchandising by recognizing product and customer trends and translating these insights into actionable ideas, concepts, products, and shows that resonate with HSN customers in your category. Additionally, you will manage daily office operations and administrative tasks, communicate with vendors and cross-functional departments, and develop both internal and external relationships. In the absence of the Buyer, you will lead the office function and perform responsibilities according to company procedures.
