About The Position
This position is located at our downtown Seattle headquarters, where hybrid employees are required to be in-office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The ideal Assistant Buyer/Assortment Planner is analytical, results-driven, and committed to fulfilling the needs of the customer. A day in the life of this role involves developing a deep understanding of the needs, wants, and expectations of the customer. This understanding is crucial for creating an execution strategy that aligns with market trends and seasonal merchandise across various categories. The Assistant Buyer/Assortment Planner will partner with buying, planning, and inventory teams pre-season to enhance the depth and precision of allocation, ensuring that inventory is effectively managed at the location level. This role also involves participating in vendor negotiations, which include exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, markdowns, return to vendor agreements, and drop-ship programs. Acting as a liaison to both store and e-commerce business partners, the Assistant Buyer/Assortment Planner will effectively communicate the selling strategy and agenda, ensuring alignment across all channels. Additionally, participation in business reviews is essential to understand what improved decisions need to be made to enhance overall department performance. This role is pivotal in driving the success of the merchandise strategy and ensuring that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively.
