About The Position

The Assistant Bus Mechanic position at Harper Creek Community School District involves assisting in maintaining the district's buses and other vehicles in optimal operating condition to support the educational program. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-trip bus checks, including filling fluids.
• Support the Mechanic in making recommendations for major equipment and vehicle replacements.
• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and adjust all vehicle systems as needed.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all vehicle system components and the ability to operate relevant shop equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and related repairs on district vehicles.
• Service and inspect vehicles as assigned.
• Notify the Mechanic of unsafe conditions found in serviced vehicles.
• Perform all work under the oversight of the Mechanic.
