The Assistant Branch Manager at Transdev is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Boston Public Schools transportation contract. This role involves managing drivers, dispatchers, and supervisors, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and professionally.   • Supervises day-to-day operations and administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company.
  • Facilitates problem solving between departments and resolves employee grievances.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of Dispatchers, Supervisors, and Drivers in the Operations Department.
  • Interacts with the unions representing the employees with the goal of positive interaction.
  • Monitors operations and coordinates the delivery of service with the Branch Manager and Assistant General Managers.
  • Ensures that service to Boston Public Schools remains on schedule and professional.
  • Issues discipline and assigns employee's duties as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of passenger transport experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public management and organization theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system's staff and operational departments.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
  • School Bus transit experience preferred.
