Value Added Distributors, LLC in Dyersville, IA is looking for a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic Assistant Branch Manager to join our team of experts where we assemble custom hydraulic hoses and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) delivery. Job Overview: The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager by overseeing daily operations, including staff supervision, training, customer service, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. This role involves managing branch activities in the absence of the Branch Manager, assisting with hose assembly, performance goals, maintaining operational efficiency and a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Foster mutually beneficial relationships that are professional by building trust and providing timely communications within the team.
  • Good understanding of order processing and business/office documentation.
  • Highschool or equivalent degree.
  • 1+ years in a leadership position.
  • Skilled in basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs (team lift).
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Ability to type 25+ wpm.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record is required.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced business degree and/or 2 plus years' industrial assembly experience is a plus.
  • Manufacturing knowledge (Fluid Power/Industrial Sales) is a plus.
  • Forklift driver certified is a plus. We will provide training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily branch operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Select, train, coach, and evaluate branch staff to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handle customer complaints, and build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in implementing new procedures, quality initiatives, training, policies, while ensuring goals are achieved.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensure adequate stock to meet customer needs, and assist with product order and delivery processes.
  • Ensure the branch operates in line with federal, state, and company policies and safety regulations.
  • Assist with budgets, financial reports, and monitoring daily activities that impact branch operations.
  • Act as a point of contact between the branch and other departments; quality, sales, human resources, etc.
  • Ensure the delivery of products to internal and external customers.
  • Promote a sense of urgency culture and disciplined adherence to support customer quality and delivery expectations while achieving profitability targets.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and promote team member empowerment, while working to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Overseeing the assembly of orders and preparing goods for shipment and recording shipment data.
  • Data entry and database management.
  • Responsible either directly or indirectly for the procuring of materials, supplies, or any other items necessary for the daily operation.
  • Ability to achieve and exceed production goals.
  • Participate in training and lead by example, including but not limited to quality standards, safety practices, individual development, and compliance.
  • Follow all required safety practices and wear personal protective equipment.
