Assistant Branch Manager
About The Position
We’re looking for a driven professional with retail/service leadership experience who is ready to launch their career to the next level. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll combine hands-on leadership, customer service excellence, and community engagement while helping Arbor Financial Credit Union expand in the Grand Rapids region. This role is ideal for candidates with management experience in fast food, retail, hospitality, or restaurants who thrive in people-focused environments. If you’ve led shifts, coached teams, handled cash, resolved customer issues, and been accountable for results, you already have the foundation to succeed here. Why This Role Stands Out We’re willing to train the right person –banking experience not necessarily required Starting Pay: $23.44/hour Professional environment with opportunities for development and advancement Day shift hours Mon – Fri, occasional Saturdays (half day) Work that makes a difference in members’ financial lives What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll support daily branch operations while mentoring a small team, stepping in for the Branch Manager as needed. You’ll assist members with accounts, consumer loans, and issue resolution, while also ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. In addition, you’ll represent Arbor in community events and outreach efforts, helping to strengthen our presence and support our growth across West Michigan.
Requirements
- A growth mindset, drive to succeed, and passion for exceptional member service
- Experience in retail management, customer service leadership, or leadership in a related field, ideally 2-3 years
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Comfort working with financial products, systems, and confidential information
- Commitment to the GR community and a desire to make a positive impact
- Proficiency in basic computer operation
Nice To Haves
- Banking/financial services experience
- College degree in business, finance, or related field
Responsibilities
