The Assistant Distribution Manager supports the daily operations of the warehouse . This position assists in supervising warehouse staff and oversees fleet , receiving, storage, distribution, systems administration, inventory control, sanitation, safety, and maintenance. The role ensures operational efficiency, strong safety performance, and timely distribution of products to meet customer expectations. Requirements

  • 2–4 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations or warehouse management.
  • Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, including local delivery and hazmat compliance.
  • Forklift experience or prior forklift certification .
  • Proficiency with computers and warehouse software systems.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms — AS400 experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety with demonstrated experience working within advanced safety programs.
  • Strong communication , leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and lead warehouse personnel in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating warehouse personnel scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels for efficient receiving and distribution of materials.
  • Exercise supervisory authority including hiring, training, performance evaluations, merit increases, promotions, career development, and terminations.
  • Ensure customer orders are received, processed, and distributed in a timely manner to maximize service and productivity.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing orders against documentation and maintain strong inventory control processes.
  • Prepare and generate warehouse productivity reports and assist management in budgeting and meeting cost targets.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of warehouse management and purchasing systems.
  • Establish and maintain an effective stock location system to optimize organization and picking efficiency.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the facility, equipment, and materials; recommend upgrades or replacements to support productivity.
  • Maintain, enforce, and continuously improve warehouse safety programs in compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
  • Actively support and participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Transportation, Customer Service, Inventory Control, HR, and EHS.
  • Oversee 13-route delivery fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance scheduling, driver safety training coordination, and regulatory compliance management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
