About The Position
The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) at Hingham Institution for Savings plays a crucial role in the Retail Banking Group, which is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to clients through the bank's Massachusetts-based branch network. This position operates under the guidance of the Branch Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance standards of the branch. The ABM is expected to assist in planning, conducting, and monitoring sales activities to foster deeper customer relationships, ensuring that the branch meets its operational goals and maintains high service standards. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager is expected to act independently, demonstrating a high level of customer service and modeling these behaviors to the staff. The role involves recruiting, developing, and retaining effective teams through ongoing coaching and development sessions. The ABM must ensure that the branch team operates in compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the specific policies of Hingham Institution for Savings. The Assistant Branch Manager is also responsible for providing innovative solutions for problem resolution, product and service advancements, and efficiency improvements. This position requires a commitment to ethical standards, leading by example to ensure that all team members uphold the highest level of integrity in their work. Additionally, the ABM may be required to perform teller duties, assist in writing performance reviews, and execute consumer and business account openings as needed.
