The position is a Grade 8 Full-time, non-exempt role aimed at assisting the Branch Manager in guiding member services staff to meet organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans. The role includes shared responsibility for the operation of the branch and overall responsibility in the absence of the Branch Manager.

  • Shares responsibility for the operation of the branch and has overall responsibility in the Branch Manager’s absence.
  • Applies thorough knowledge of Credit Union policy and procedure in the operation and supervision of the branch and its employees.
  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff, and effective employee relations.
  • Schedules staff and ensures adequate staffing for efficient branch operation.
  • Ensures all credit union policies and procedures are followed and initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Resolves operational problems with staff and other branch personnel.
  • Provides overrides, approves transactions, and answers operational questions for branch staff.
  • Provides input into performance reviews of branch staff.
  • Backs up member services staff by processing cash transactions and maintaining cash balance.
  • Identifies members’ financial needs and provides solutions or referrals to specialists.
  • Handles member inquiries and resolves issues.
  • Participates in the opening and closing schedule and Saturday supervisor rotation.
  • Acts as the on-site IRA expert for member inquiries.
  • Performs select loan applications and maintenance requests.
  • Assures proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school graduate.
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a sales role.
  • At least two years’ experience as cashier or teller, preferably in a financial institution.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the supervision of others.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow up with others regarding information needed or provided.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic.
  • Able to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Able to produce high-quality work in an efficient and timely manner.
