The Assistant Branch Manager at TexasBank plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operational activities within the branch. This position involves managing customer relations, servicing accounts, and ensuring operational efficiency. The role is hands-on, requiring the individual to perform teller duties and assist in new account and loan administration. Additionally, the Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for business development through customer engagement and prospecting, while also managing staff performance and training.

  • Assist in planning and organizing daily operational activities of the branch.
  • Service accounts and maintain high-quality customer relations.
  • Ensure efficient operations for retail and operational functions of the branch.
  • Act as a paying/receiving teller and Personal Banker as needed.
  • Recommend products to existing and new customers as opportunities arise.
  • Make recommendations on hiring, firing, advancement, and promotion of direct reports.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching to direct reports.
  • Provide or arrange training in operations and bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintain customer contact to enhance relationships and resolve problems.
  • Represent the bank in business development efforts and community functions.
  • Maintain security controls to protect against criminal or fraudulent activity.
  • Ensure effective scheduling of personnel to serve customers adequately.
  • Review and approve transactions requiring overrides.
  • Prepare and review loan documents.
  • Adhere strictly to the Bank Secrecy Act and applicable regulations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of banking experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding lending and related departments.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and lending procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong confidentiality, decision making, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Associate degree or advanced degree highly preferred.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role is strongly preferred.
