Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Branch Manager in the efficient operation of the branch, including ensuring all staff associates provide consistent, high quality customer service, including cross-selling products and services and managing referrals to meet or exceed the Branch’s defined objectives. Manages operations in strict accordance with bank regulations, policies, and procedures. Leadership and Staff Management: Support branch managers in overseeing daily branch operations, sales, and service across multiple locations, stepping in as acting manager when needed. Assists with leading and developing frontline staff (tellers, head tellers, and universal bankers) to meet customer experience, sales, and compliance goals. Performs the duties of the Branch Manager in her/his absence in the daily operation of the branch. Assists with the supervision and coaching of staff, including scheduling, performance feedback, and on-the-job training. Handles HR-related performance management of assigned staff, i.e., issuing warnings, conducting appraisal reviews, evaluating staff performance for salary adjustments, promotions, etc. Works closely with branch management to ensure adequate staffing, resolve scheduling conflicts and personnel issues; As needed, assists VP Sales Manager with resource scheduling and other operational tasks associated with branches. Promote a positive, team-focused culture and model professional, customer-centric behavior. Employs problem-solving skills and sound judgment in resolving customer problems, concerns, requests. Operations, Risk, and Compliance: Oversee daily operational activities: cash controls, vault and ATM procedures, dual control, opening/closing, and branch security. Ensure adherence to bank policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, CTRs, CIP, deposit and lending regulations). Complete and review operational, audit, and compliance reports, and address any exceptions or findings. Operates the branch within established cost controls and allowances, including preparing data for annual budget, branch reports. Works with Branch Manager to ensure branch is operationally sound. Sales, Service, and Customer Experience: Perform all frontline customer service and sales functions, including teller transactions, account opening, basic consumer lending support, and qualified referrals. Meet individual sales/referral goals and support the branch team in achieving all scorecard goals. Handle escalated or complex customer issues and ensure timely, satisfactory resolution while maintaining high service standards. Readily participates in business development activities. Actively participates in community service and consistently represents Dime Bank in a professional manner. Explains, promotes, refers, sells, and/or cross-sells products and services based on customers’ needs. Uses sales and services techniques to encourage retention and expand customer relationships. Originates consumer loans within designated lending authority. Processes transactions on the bank’s operating system(s). Opens and closes the branch in compliance with security procedures. Performs other assigned duties essential to the operation of the branch. Fills in for other branches at the request of management. Knowledge, Skills, Requirements: Requires an Associate's degree or parallel experience in banking and an adherence to the bank’s training policies and requirements. Knowledge of financial products and services sales, banking regulations, and life insurance license or licensure.
