Summary: The Assistant Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Manager supports the BHT Manager in overseeing daily operations, staff management, and maintaining a therapeutic environment. The Assistant BHT Manager serves as a working leader who models best practices in client care while also taking responsibility for scheduling, ensuring shift coverage, deescalating, and assisting with administrative and supervisory responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED required
  • Primarily will work 1 st shift
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
  • Proof of Insurance
  • CPR or BLS certification (must be completed within 60 days of hire)
  • Authorization to work in the US is required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience desired
  • Experience in residential, inpatient, and addiction treatment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as BHT during assigned shift
  • Provide day-to-day management, guidance, real-time support during crisis situations and coaching to BHT staff
  • Create and post staff schedule and activity schedule guaranteeing appropriate coverage and appropriate staff-to-client ratios
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for all client appointments
  • Assign and monitor completion of room checks, documentation, and daily BHT duties
  • Coordinates with Human Resources and BHT Manager for staffing and personnel decisions including reviewing applicants and engaging in initial interviews
  • Monitors and ensures completion of BHT duties, trainings, policy acknowledgement, documentation requirements, and meeting attendance for all BHTs
  • Redirects all staff behavior that does not align with the organization’s values and promote a positive culture
  • Support the BHT Manager with performance feedback, evaluations, and minor staff performance concerns to escalate as needed
  • Co-facilitate BHT meetings with BHT Manager
  • Ensure client supplies for intake room, hygiene closet, weekend activities, and client program binders are maintained
  • Maintain paperwork and resources needed for staff (phone time sign up sheets, boards, task sheets, etc.)
  • Log facilities requests in MaintainX
  • Participate in meetings as requested (operations, clinical, interdisciplinary, community)
  • Complete and monitor all required documentation in a timely manner (client forms, shift notes to document clients’ behavior, status, and physical conditions, one on one supervision meetings, all staff meetings, etc.)
  • Assist clients with daily activities including providing emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Facilitate group and individual activities
  • Participate in on-call coverage with the BHT Manager
  • Other duties as assigned
