About The Position

PLEASANT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL Assistant Band Director (2026-2027 School Year) Pleasant Valley High School is a thriving school that next year will include over 320 band students in grades 9-12. We have four concert bands, one of the states largest non-competitive marching bands, 3 jazz bands, and offer a wide variety of extra musical opportunities for students. The bands rehearse every day and each student receives individual lessons. Requirements

• Iowa teaching license required including the following endorsement: 5-12 Music (145)
• High School
• Full-Time

Nice To Haves

• Woodwind specialist preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Direct a high school concert band
• Direct a high school jazz band
• Teach individual applied lessons - Woodwind specialist preferred, but not required
• Co-direct the Spartan Marching Band and pep band
• Assist with daily administrative tasks as needed to run a large 4A band program
