About The Position

The Assistant Band Director will be involved in the overall operation of an instrumental music program, team teaching at both Junior High and High School levels, and collaborating with a team of directors. The role requires knowledge of state and UIL policies governing band and the ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas Teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
• Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
• Knowledge of state and UIL policies governing band
• Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• 1-2 years teaching and assistant band directing experience

Nice To Haves

• Percussion specialist preferred
