The Assistant Bakery Manager is responsible for maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service. This role involves assisting customers with product suggestions, filling special orders, and providing food preparation suggestions. The Assistant Bakery Manager will also engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques through various communication methods. Additionally, the position requires specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees and assisting with all department duties such as preparation, baking, decorating, and displaying of products. The role includes ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bakery area and equipment, as well as maintaining inventory levels and product quality.

  • Assists customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders, and food preparation suggestions.
  • Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately and resolves customer complaints.
  • Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone and in-store interactions.
  • Assists with all department duties such as preparation, baking, decorating, and displaying of products.
  • Implements proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
  • Maintains Bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and inventory levels.
  • Ensures proper cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of bakery area and equipment.
  • Ensures temperatures are maintained in all phases of preparation, display, and storage.
  • Assists with scheduling, supervising, training, and assigning duties to department employees.
  • Monitors production process following company procedures and profitability.
  • Assists with preparing sales and inventory reports and physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Builds displays, rotates, and discards outdated or spoiled products.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper code dating for all products within the department.
  • Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders, and inspecting quality.
  • Accurately completes and maintains daily log sheets, Production Charts, Sales and Labor, and other required paperwork.
