The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio’s past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state’s future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is seeking an attorney who is licensed in Ohio and has maximum of 5 years of litigation experience, to fill the position of Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Section. The applicant should have strong time management, research, writing, and verbal communication skills, a passion for public service, demonstrated commitment to protecting the unprotected, and an ability to work effectively with diverse groups. The Civil Rights Section litigates discrimination cases on behalf of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. This position will be headquartered in our Columbus office (located at 30 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215), and requires travel around the state and in person in administrative, state, and federal forums.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code.
