About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Trainer at Gwynedd Mercy University is responsible for assisting in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries and illnesses for all intercollegiate sports. This role involves daily operations of the athletic training facility, including supervision of medical coverage and effective communication with student athletes and coaches. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including mornings, nights, and weekends, and involves limited travel.

Requirements

• Must be a member of NATA and BOC certified.
• Eligible for Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer License.
• 1 - 3 years of Athletic Training experience preferred as a Certified and/or Licensed Athletic Trainer.
• Collegiate experience preferred.
• BA/BS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries/illnesses under the direction of the head athletic trainer and team physician.
• Assist with the daily operation of the athletic training facility, including supervision of medical coverage for practices and events.
• Supervise student first aiders and maintain appropriate record-keeping practices and facility maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with student athletes, coaches, and parents regarding injuries, treatment plans, and return to activity progression.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
