About The Position

The Athletic Trainer will provide medical services to student-athletes and athletic teams as assigned, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletics Health Care and the Team Physicians. Responsibilities include assisting with the prevention and recognition of injuries, managing and rehabilitating injuries, and maintaining medical records in a timely and confidential manner.

Requirements

• Masters degree from an accredited institution.
• NATABOC certification.
• Eligible/possession of North Carolina Athletic Training State Licensure.
• CPR and AED Certified.

Nice To Haves

• One to Three (1-3) years of experience as a certified athletic trainer.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services to student-athletes and athletic teams as assigned.
• Assist with the prevention and recognition of injuries to student-athletes.
• Assist with providing a safe, legal, and ethical working environment.
• Assist with the management and rehabilitation of injuries to student-athletes adhering to departmental established protocols.
• Assist with the organization and administration of all sports medicine services.
• Support the mission statements, goals, and philosophy of the Sports Medicine Department and Athletic Department.
• Assist with the organization, delivery, and documentation of pre-participation physical examinations.
• Assist with the acquisition and maintenance of student-athlete insurance records.
• Provide coverage of athletic team practices and events.
• Maintain medical records on all student-athletes in a timely, efficient, and confidential manner.
• Contribute to a team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements.
• Assist with the maintenance of a clean, sterile, and safe working environment.
• Coordinate with the student-athlete and appropriate personnel to utilize support services.
• Undergo yearly performance evaluation.
