Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of athletic injury prevention and treatment techniques.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Attend athletic events and practices, requiring flexible work hours.
• Provide training and information for the prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries for athletes.
• Administer preventive or rehabilitative treatment to athletes engaged in various university sports.
• Maintain general treatment orders to be reviewed/approved annually by the team physician.
• Oversee the athletic training facility, including the maintenance of equipment and inventory of supplies.
• Mentor, supervise, and instruct athletic training club students through clinical experiences.
• Establish and maintain accurate records of athletes for eligibility based on physical examinations and reports concerning accidents, injuries, treatments, and physician referrals.
• Maintain a clean, effective, and efficient athletic training facility.
• Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments in a daily treatment log.
• Manage record-keeping, including secondary insurance.
• Follow/manage concussion protocols established by NATA and ensure timely communication to appropriate parties.
• Maintain communication with coaches on the care and treatment of their student-athletes.
• Adhere to all CCAC athletic training bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to all NAIA bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Equip each team with appropriate medical supplies as delegated by the Head Athletic Trainer.
• Assist in creating a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks and hazards.
• Follow up with coaches to complete appropriate reports for all accidents and file reports with appropriate offices.
• Work collaboratively with the Head Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and coaches in providing technical services and information for the prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
• Analyze situations accurately to take effective action and administer first aid and injury management as needed.
• Understand and utilize various modalities used in athletic therapy and treatment and follow standing orders issued by the Team Physician.
• Support and educate coaches and faculty by providing information and offering in-service workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
