About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager is responsible for assisting the Football Athletic Equipment Manager with the management of the apparel and equipment of the Texas A&M Football Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of athletics football equipment management, collegiate or professional.
  • Must have a Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • AEMA certification required.

  • Knowledge of football equipment (sizing, inventory).
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Current knowledge of concussion prevention/technology.
  • Ability to balance/maintain a budget.
  • Ability to communicate/maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Ability to develop new technologies, guidelines, and policies.
  • Advanced logistics skills for proper transportation, maintenance, and ordering of equipment/apparel.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory control and ACS management for football.
  • Assist directly with inventory management for football at the direction of the Head Coach or designee.
  • Assist with apparel/footwear storage and Issue for football.
  • Assist Athletic Equipment Manager with placing orders through the Athletic Business Office and direct to manufactures for football.
  • Assist directly with apparel issue for football at the direction of the Head Coach or designee.
  • Assist with apparel/footwear storage and Issue for football.
  • Assist in supervision of student workers.
  • Pack for road trips with the assistance of student managers.
  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
  • Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.
