Yale athletics is seeking a highly motivated, efficient Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing Operations to join our external team. Priority ticketing responsibilities for this role include managing digital and box office ticket operations for football, women's basketball, men's basketball, men's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse. The Assistant Athletic Director will also oversee the Ticket Operations Associate, casual and student game day staff, day-to-day operations, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Manage all aspects of game day ticketing operations and cash deposits.
  • Coordinate with the business office for financial reconciliation.
  • Oversee game day set up, staffing, and reporting for all ticketed events.
  • Effective resolution of all customer service issues at all points of sale locations and at athletic events.
  • Responsible for having a comprehensive knowledge of all rules and procedures governing complimentary ticket admission, official visit complimentary ticket admissions, and unofficial visit complimentary ticket admissions.
  • Responsible for a comprehensive knowledge of all rules and procedures governing student-athlete will-call list.
  • Establishing effective vendor relationships and securing favorable economic terms with all relevant third parties, e.g., ticket agencies.
  • Responsible for the performance of all relevant external ticket operation vendors.
  • Creation and maintenance of computer database for accurate accounting/tracking of the following: actual vs. projected sales for evaluating marketing strategies; program sales performance and spectator attendance for each event; complimentary tickets; determine seating priority for season ticket seat assignments.
  • Responsible for setting and meeting assigned ticket sales P&L projections
  • Ensure inventory control, sales methods, cash handling, sales performance expectations, employment conditions, evaluation, etc.
  • Responsible for the timely updating of all facets of the ticketing website.
  • Responsible for strategically designating seat assignments for season ticket holders, group ticket sales, and others.
  • Make recommendations to senior staff for group ticket packages.
  • Develop a communication plan for distributing information and engaging season ticket holders.
  • Responsible for hiring and training game day ticketing staff and student workers.
  • Comply with all NCAA and Ivy League Rules and Regulations.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals.
  • Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk.
  • Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials.
  • Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary.
  • Develops, oversees and monitors budgets.
  • Develops and maintains specialized training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with evolving priority levels and adjust focus as needed.
  • Extremely organized and meticulous. High aptitude for customer service and ability to manage conflict.
  • Ability to craft clear and concise written and verbal communications for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficient technical abilities with electronic devices and software systems.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and occasional travel for postseason and tournament events.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in ticket operations and/or in an athletics environment.
  • Strong supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of ticketing analytics and data management.
  • Experience in ARMs, CSS/Coding, Google Sites, Photoshop, Qualtrics, Product/Service Sales, ScoreShots, Teamworks.
