The University of San Francisco (USF) is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading Jesuit Catholic, urban university with a tremendously diverse student and faculty population and a global perspective. Established as San Francisco’s first institution of higher education in 1855, the University is deeply embedded in the intellectual, spiritual, and cultural life of one of the most innovative, diverse, and dynamic cities in the world. USF Athletics is distinguished by a proud tradition of excellence. USF has captured 15 national championships, including multiple Division I titles in men’s basketball and men’s soccer, placing it among a select group of institutions with championship legacies across multiple sports. This combination of historic success, a mission-driven university community, and the unmatched setting of San Francisco makes USF Athletics a uniquely compelling place to work. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Development, the Assistant Athletic Director for Development is responsible for increasing revenue for Athletics in addition to managing a major giving portfolio. The key focus of this role will be in two areas: expanding the Annual Giving pipeline to increase both the quantity of donors and total sum of giving to Athletics, and managing relationships with major gift prospects and donors, with responsibility for securing five- and six-figure commitments. The overall goal for this position is to build and cultivate relationships with donors to support the University of San Francisco in its most ambitious fundraising campaign, which has a $500M goal that will vastly enhance the University’s presence and scholarship in various fields.
