The Department of Theatre and Dance at Montclair State University seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to join our team as a full-time Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor of Acting for the Camera, starting September 1, 2025. This non-tenure-track position, with an initial two-year contract and potential for renewal and promotion, offers an incredible opportunity to shape the future of acting education in a diverse, interdisciplinary, and innovative department. We are looking for an inspiring educator and industry professional to teach in our BFA Acting program, with a focus on acting for the camera and new media performance. This is an opportunity to nurture the next generation of artists, champion inclusivity, and contribute to a department that values collaboration and artistic excellence. Our program, located just 15 miles from New York City, aims to continue to build national recognition in both equity and excellence. We nurture strong artistic talent and skills in our 60 students from across the US. We integrate dynamic professional artists as teaching faculty and guest directors to advance the mission of both the department and Montclair State University. This position offers the opportunity to join a team of core faculty members dedicated to continually evolving curriculum, integrating training into process and performance in productions, and teaching approaches that support culturally responsive student learning and achievement.
