The Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture (PSLA) invites applications for a Full Time, 9-month tenure track at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to contribute to our Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programs. We are looking for candidates who can teach broadly across the landscape architecture core curriculum.

  • Teach at least 13 credits of coursework per academic year plus MLA student thesis advising.
  • Participate in department, college and university service activities and governance.
  • Academic advising for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Engage in original scholarly research and/or creative work and to disseminate this work through a suitable peer-review process.
  • Accredited professional degree in landscape architecture or international equivalent.
  • Terminal degree in landscape architecture (MLA) or a related field.
  • Ph.D. in landscape architecture or a related field.
  • An active professional license in landscape architecture.
  • Professional practice experience in landscape architecture.
  • Outstanding portfolio of professional work.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching at a university level.
  • Strengths in one or more areas of expertise such as urban design practice, ecological design, sustainable construction practices, advanced graphic representation, and design for climate change adaptation.
