About The Position

This eleven-month appointment involves teaching graduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical, commensurate with expertise and education. The opportunity for other faculty roles and responsibilities are also provided.

Requirements

  • A Doctorate degree in Nursing is required for a Nurse Practitioner position.
  • A current unencumbered license, or eligibility for license, to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.
  • The ability to instruct students in a variety of courses in various clinical situations.
  • The ability to develop teaching materials.
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of the team.
  • The ability to provide care to patients in nursing clinic.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching in Nurse Practitioner degree programs in nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical.
  • Utilize the online learning management system, WTClass, for which training is provided.
  • Advise students currently in the graduate nursing program.
  • Serve on departmental committees and University committees (if elected).
  • Attend monthly Faculty/Staff Organization Committee meetings.
  • Demonstrate productivity in scholarly activity, if hired in a tenure-track position, for which a doctoral degree is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
