About The Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is recruiting full-time faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the appointment (non-tenure) stream. The qualified applicant will be actively involved in patient care; medical student, resident, and fellow teaching; and orthopaedic research as determined by the Chair and associated division chief.

Requirements

  • A medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic residency training program
  • Completion of an accredited trauma fellowship program
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Board-eligible or Board-certification in orthopedic surgery
  • Significant interest and ability in clinical care and teaching
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
  • History of scholarly publications and presentations
  • Evidence of interest in and involvement in research

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in specific orthopedic subspecialty programs such as Adult Reconstruction, Foot and Ankle Surgery, General Orthopaedics, Hand and Upper Extremity, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Podiatry, Primary Care Sports Medicine, Spine Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Trauma
