SUNY Polytechnic Institute's College of Engineering's Department of Engineering invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Systems Engineering. Ideal candidates will have an earned Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with at least five years of industrial experience, teaching experience at the collegiate level and a strong background in systems engineering related to and capable of supporting SUNY Poly's emerging interests in systems engineering, robotics, AI, cybersecurity, and data science. Candidates should be able to support a breadth of disciplines within systems engineering and demonstrate a willingness to advance ongoing programs within SUNY Poly. Duties include a strong emphasis on graduate teaching (on campus and online) as well as responsibilities for curriculum development, industrial engagement, campus and community service and sponsored research. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with other faculty members around the four thematic areas described in SUNY Poly's 2024 Strategic Plan: Materials, Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing; AI and Information Technology; Smart Infrastructure and Sustainability; and Healthcare & Wellbeing. The successful applicant will be resided in our ME or ECE program depending on the background and support our ABET accredited B.S. degree program that addresses national and regional workforce needs and offers our graduates excellent employment opportunities.
