The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Communications was established in Fall 2017. Prior to becoming a department, it was the Communicative Disorders Program in the Department of Human Communication Studies. The department has been continuously accredited by the Council on Academic Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology since 1971. We offer a robust undergraduate program with approximately 500 majors, representing a diverse and dynamic student body. In 2019, our graduate program transitioned to a cohort model, admitting 30 students annually to foster collaboration and academic excellence. The department currently consists of seven tenure-track faculty members with a wide range of expertise, one full-time lecturer, and a full-time director who oversees the Speech and Hearing Clinic.
