About The Position

The Department of Safety Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott seeks a full-time a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Safety Science in the College of Aviation. This position primarily focuses on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in aviation safety. This position's expected start date is January 5, 2026. This is a teaching-focused position with a general expectation of teaching 4 sections per semester in the fall and spring semesters; additional summer teaching opportunities may be available. This position has minimal research expectations, although opportunities for research may be available. Non-tenure track faculty members at Embry-Riddle are eligible for future promotion based on job performance and length of service.

Requirements

• PhD in Aviation, Safety, or a closely related field.
• Candidates with an MS in related disciplines with significant industry experience may be considered.
• Capability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in safety sciences.
• Strong desire to focus on innovative and high-quality instruction.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in safety management, safety ethics, accident investigation, and quantitative methods.
