We are excited to announce the commencement of our multi-year expansion initiative in experimental condensed matter physics. This aligns with our plans for the academic year 2024/2025, when the University of Utah’s Department of Physics & Astronomy is poised to relocate to the University of Utah’s Applied Sciences Building, providing newly built laboratory, office and educational spaces. We are now actively seeking applications to fill one or more tenure-line faculty positions focusing on quantum materials, quantum information, quantum sensing, or quantum emulation research. We are particularly enthusiastic about candidates whose research interests in these areas connect with and further enrich existing experimental and/or theoretical condensed matter research programs at our department. The University of Utah’s Department of Physics & Astronomy is committed to pursuing key science questions within an inclusive academic community; to training and diversifying the next generation of researchers, educators, and technology workforce leaders; and to inspiring an appreciation for knowledge in students and the wider community.
