About The Position

The Department of Physical Therapy at North Central College is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join its Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This 12-month position focuses on preparing physical therapists with strong skills in movement science and patient-centered care, emphasizing professionalism, communication, and technology. Requirements

  • Earned or in progress academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, etc.) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed physical therapist in the state of Illinois or eligible for and intent to obtain physical therapist licensure in Illinois.
  • Ability to function well within a collegial and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to live by and role model the mission, vision, values, and commitment of the North Central College Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
  • Contemporary expertise in one or more content areas taught within the physical therapy curriculum.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a 20 credit-hour load within the Physical Therapy Department curriculum.
  • Support co-curricular experiences for students and engage actively in the Department of Physical Therapy and the School of Education and Health Sciences.
  • Produce primary and secondary artifacts in alignment with departmental professional standards.
  • Participate in departmental service activities, including searches, student advising, admissions days, and curricular oversight.
  • Engage in college-wide service, including attending required meetings and events.
