About The Position

The University of Central Arkansas is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Music - Piano/Artist in Residence for a renewable nine-month full-time position. This role involves teaching applied piano lessons, overseeing piano proficiency, and maintaining the university's pianos, while also focusing on recruiting students and building a performance presence both regionally and internationally.

Requirements

  • D.M.A. or equivalent/commensurate experience in Piano Performance.

  • Strong record of international recruiting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach applied piano lessons and studio classes.
  • Conduct piano chamber music sessions.
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate piano literature and pedagogy courses.
  • Recruit undergraduate and graduate piano students.
  • Build and maintain a performance and teaching presence regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Oversee Departmental and Graduate Piano Proficiency.
  • Manage the care and maintenance of all university pianos and the 'All Steinway School Initiative'.
