About The Position

Full-time residential faculty members at Jacksonville University College of Law are expected to teach law classes, conduct scholarship and engage in professional development activities, and complete university and/or community service. The position may be a 9- or 12-month contract.

Requirements

  • The ability to teach a range of courses across the juris doctor curriculum
  • The ability to incorporate technology into classroom teaching and to teach online and hybrid classes
  • The ability to supervise and conduct research and supervise student research in area of expertise
  • The ability to work with diverse students and small class sizes
  • Participation in departmental, school, college, or university service
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner
  • Juris Doctor degree or a terminal degree in a related field
  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Stamina to teach up to 24 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes in the J.D. program-a typical l0ad is 12-14 hours annually
  • Engage in research/scholarship
  • Supervise student research projects
  • Participate in student advising
  • Participate in university service at the department, school, college, or university level
  • Participate in community service (optional)
