About The Position

The College of Business Administration at SUNY Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Finance at the assistant/associate professor level in the Department of Accounting and Finance beginning Fall 2025. To be considered, candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB-accredited program. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach courses in our Masters of Data Analytics program. The successful candidate also will have opportunities to collaborate with other faculty members around the four thematic areas described in SUNY Poly's 2024 Strategic Plan: Materials, Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing; AI and Information Technology; Smart Infrastructure and Sustainability; and Healthcare & Wellbeing. Applicants who are ABD candidates with a clear plan for degree completion by June 15, 2025, may be considered.

Requirements

  • PhD (or ABD) in Finance or a closely related discipline from an institution accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized organization, such as the AACSB.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to teach courses in the Masters of Data Analytics program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Finance courses, and possible Data Analytics courses. A typical course load is 3 courses per semester.
  • Maintain an active publication record that meets or exceeds the requirements for AACSB's faculty qualification status (i.e., Scholarly Academic or Practice Academic).
  • Be actively involved in student advising and mentoring, assurance of learning, as well as committee service at all levels of SUNY Poly.
  • Engage in professional or academic activities that make a positive impact and advance the reputation of the COB and SUNY Poly.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
