Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region-and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state's oldest and largest pecan grove. Richard Bland College is currently seeking exceptional Computer Science, Computer Programming, and/or Computer Engineering professors to serve in permanent, non-tenure track, full-time positions (with option for renewal based upon performance and college policy) for the Fall 2026 semester. The primary role of these positions is to provide college-level instruction and academic-related activities designed to encourage, support, and enable student success. • Organizing class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the courses.
  • Providing input and working with other faculty and staff to review, produce, and/or select course-related materials.
  • Enthusiastic commitment to the Richard Bland College mission, vision, and strategic plan.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and instruction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of first- and second-year college students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative style.
  • An earned doctorate in Computer Science and/or Engineering.
