About The Position

Grand View University is seeking a Tenure Track Faculty Position in Athletic Training for the role of Assistant/Associate Professor of Athletic Training. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop and teach courses in both the didactic and clinical components of the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. The candidate will utilize face-to-face, online, and blended teaching modalities to facilitate student learning. Service responsibilities will include assisting with student recruitment, supporting students in identifying immersive clinical experiences, and managing student learning objectives and program objectives. The candidate will also mentor students in and outside the classroom and clinic environment, fostering the collective success of the MSAT program and the Kinesiology and Athletic Training Department. The effective date for this position is Fall Semester, 2026.

Requirements

  • Earned a Doctorate in Athletic Training or related field (e.g., DAT, PhD, EdD, DSc).
  • Certified Athletic Trainer credentialed by the Board of Certification.
  • Current or ability to obtain Iowa athletic training license.
  • Possess National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Strong commitment to student success, mentorship, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with MSAT and undergraduate kinesiology faculty members.

Nice To Haves

  • Athletic training clinical practice and teaching experience.
  • Contemporary expertise in orthopedic evaluation (upper extremity and spine) and therapeutic interventions (modalities).
  • Teaching experience in athletic training education.
  • Experience or interest in teaching undergraduate level motor control and learning and/or care and prevention of athletic injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach courses in the MSAT program.
  • Utilize various teaching modalities including face-to-face, online, and blended formats.
  • Assist with student recruitment.
  • Support students in identifying immersive clinical experiences.
  • Report and manage student learning objectives and program objectives.
  • Mentor students in and outside the classroom and clinic environment.
