About The Position

Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related discipline; Three to five (3-5) years’ professional experience in a structural design capacity; Ability to conduct research and scholarly activities in a defined area of interest; Ability to work in a team environment and to be involved in collaborative projects. For Associate Professor, the candidate must have a PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline plus five years of teaching and research experience in an accredited professional degree program in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management by the date of hire and at least 6 years as an assistant professor or equivalent. Teaching ability at undergraduate level for Architecture and Construction Management and graduate level in Architecture via selected aspects of the curriculum (e.g., structures I [statics & strength of material], structures II, structures III , and materials & methods). Candidates must be able to demonstrate understanding and experience in structural design/construction, architecture, and current construction technologies, assemblies, and materials. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline. ABD will be considered with an expectation of completion within one (1) year of hiring date; Professional registration/certification such as PE, AIA , LEED , CPC , or DBIA ; Previous teaching experience at the university level; Demonstrated development of funded research and/or scholarly achievements; Ability to develop and deliver elective courses in architecture and/or construction management; Experience in structural design for commercial and/or large scale residential construction; Experience and ability in alternative project delivery and/or virtual design and construction ( VDC ).
